Frenchman Sébastien Chavanel will join the ex-Bbox Bouygues Telecom team Europcar in 2011, AFP reported today. The 29-year-old sprinter will rejoin team manager Jean-René Bernaudeau, for whom he rode in the first four seasons of his professional career. The younger brother of Sylvain Chavanel made his start with Vendée U, the development team of Brioches La Boulangère, before stepping up to the professional team in 2003. Frenchman Sylvain Chavanel has vanquished all of his early season mishaps by winning stage two of this year's Tour de France to Spa and taking the yellow jersey of race leader with his solo victory. The Quick Step team's Sylvain Chavanel and Tom Boonen will return to competition on Saturday's first stage of the Tour de Suisse.  Chavanel has been out of competition since a heavy crash into a team car during the finale of Liège - Bastogne - Liège left him with a fractured skull. He estimated last month that he would be out for another six weeks, making this weekend's race two weeks ahead of schedule. Quick Step rider Sylvain Chavanel, badly injured following a crash in Liège-Bastogne-Liège two weeks ago, is recovering well. The Frenchman suffered a fracture at the base of his skull and a broken tooth, and will be out of competition for at least another six weeks. Quick Step rider Sylvain Chavanel was diagnosed with a fracture at the base of his skull as a result of a crash in Liège - Bastogne - Liège, the team announced today. The Frenchman was lucky to escape any damage to his motor or sensory skills, but will be off the bike for eight weeks as a result of the injury.
